Hi everyone!

My name is Adi Mittal and I am a second year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh. I am interested in cerebrovascular neurosurgery, spine, machine learning, basic science research, medical devices, and start up formation.

Previously, I was accepted to the Guaranteed Admissions Program in Medicine (BS/MD) after my senior year of high school and majored in neuroscience at Pitt. During my undergraduate studies, I researched sickle cell disease pain and mutations that contribute to red blood cell hemolysis with Dr. Kalpna Gupta and Dr. Mark Gladwin. I also participated in the Harvard Stem Cell Institute Internship studying embryonic stem cells and miRNA expression. My research has lead to over 20 published peer-reviewed basic science and public health articles with 7 first-author articles. Outside of academics, I have exhibited a photo series on refugee healthcare experiences and published a photo essay in the Harvard Review of Public Health. In my free time I enjoy photography, playing the saxophone and tennis.
